MARESCA INTERIORS LAUNCHES RAW, A WALLPAPER IN COLLABORATION WITH FROMENTAL - FEBRUARY 2019
British wallcovering atelier Fromental in collaboration with London based interior design studio Maresca Interiors, will showcase its latest collection, Raw, on February 28th at Maresca Interiors’ showroom at 123 Sydney Street, London. This preview showcases a selection of pieces which will be presented at the Samambaia exhibition in April by Maresca Interiors and Fromental and part of the Fuorisalone 2019 (Salone del Mobile) fair in Milan. Raw was conceived as the centrepiece for the Fuorisalone 2018 Meandros exhibition and created a powerful impression and a sensory overload, which fully immersed the viewer in the design. It represents the concept of pure, untrained creativity and thought, the limbo of the mind and unchanneled reason. Inspired by modern Brazilian tapestries, Fromental shows a truly original custom design using bold shapes hand painted onto brushed artist’s linen. The decorative motifs use the signature saturated primary colours usually associated with this format. Western cultures and sensibilities merge in this worldly collection decadent in details and surprising in colour. The variety of brushstroke combinations and contrasts gives volume and form to a space which results in a visual tour de force. Raw has been coveted since its initial launch and driven by this unexpected success, and by the companies shared interest in modern textile design, Fromental and Maresca Interiors further researched and developed a unique ten piece collection. The collection features bold combinations of sophisticated urban colours, bold metallic shades and organic textures so that , the uncensored aesthetic of Raw’s timeless modern design results in a powerful, suggestive and expressive piece of art that can be wrapped around the walls.
MARESCA INTERIORS DEBUTS LITO, A COLLECTION OF UNIQUE INDOOR/OUTDOOR FURNITURE - NOVEMBER 2018
Driven by a timeless visual aesthetic and fuelled by the desire to merge innovation with functionality and sustainability, Maresca Interiors ventures into the world of furniture design with Lito, a versatile collection of tables for both indoor and outdoor. Combining the best of Italian design with an environmental conscience, Maresca Interiors has researched and developed methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment without compromising on quality or style. The pieces are made from a unique terrazzo blend of locally sourced resins, mineral aggregates and natural pigments combined with small pieces of natural stone that would normally be discarded by the mines. These natural stones are given an opportunity to shine in pieces created by Italy’s best craftsmen. The result is a range of pieces that cross boundaries between nature and design, never overpowering but always maintaining a unique and distinctive character. Highlighting the unpretentious and organic colours and shapes of natural stone, Lito is a collection compatible with both classic and contemporary interiors, which can naturally blend into any landscape setting. MARESCA INTERIORS AT FUORISALONE 2018 - 17/22 APRIL MILAN
For Salone del Mobile 2018, Fromental, Maresca Interiors and Solomon&WU are collaborating to present Meandros, a symbolic journey through objects, textiles, and materials.
The exhibition celebrates our relationship with the world and invites the visitor to partake in an immersive experience which aesthetically explores the evolution of humanity and reason.
Meandros is a journey through six rooms, beginning from the courtyard of Via Solferino 11. The visitor is suspended in both time and space, through an exploration of innovative materials, intricate wall coverings and modernist crafts with a myriad of forms and colours that seem to have surfaced from the most creative imaginations.
Fromental, Maresca Interiors and Solomon&WU share the belief that design is a polyformal artistic expression, and for Salone del Mobile they are breaking constraints and formulating a complex, unified and sensory experience for visitors.
All the furniture has been designed by Maresca Interiors ad hoc for Meandros.
